A typical 60 m² two-bedroom granny flat needs about 8 openings: a 2.4 m sliding door, an entry door and six windows. All six windows can come from the 70 series thermally broken casement we supply now; doors are on request. With a 500 m² production minimum, the package suits builders doing several granny flats from one design.

Rules to check first
Granny flats are usually limited to about 60 m² (NSW secondary dwellings; Victoria’s small second dwellings) and need an energy rating like any new home: 7-star NatHERS in most states, BASIX in NSW. Bushfire-prone lots need glazing to the BAL in the planning report. Tell us the BAL and the energy requirement with the plans.
Granny flat questions
How many windows does a granny flat need?
A typical 60 m² two-bedroom granny flat has 6 to 8 windows and 2 doors: a sliding door to the deck, an entry door, a living window, a kitchen awning, a window in each bedroom, and small obscure-glass awnings for the bathroom and laundry.
Do granny flat windows need to be thermally broken?
It depends on the climate and the energy rating. In cooler zones (Victoria, Tasmania, the ACT, much of SA) a 7-star NatHERS rating usually needs thermally broken frames with double glazing. In warm zones (south-east Queensland, coastal NSW) standard frames with low-E glass are often enough. The energy report for the plans decides.
Can you price the same package for several granny flats?
Yes. Builders who repeat a design send the plans once; we price the package and hold the schedule so each new job is quoted on the same basis, with sizes adjusted where a site needs it.
How long does a granny flat window package take?
Usually 8 to 12 weeks from signed shop drawings to delivery on site, so order at frame stage or earlier.
Do you supply the entry door and flyscreens too?
Yes. The package can include the entry door, sliding door, flyscreens on every opening sash and keyed locks, all in one colour batch.
